About EENA

Some of EENA Advisory Board Achievements:

- the creation of the 112 Foundation, a wide educational action to increase the level of knowledge of 112 in the EU. Its activities was officially launched at the European Parliament during the European 112 Day on February 11 2009. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQx8ra4IG2k

- 112 ESSN - Emergency Services Staff Network - that serves as a platform of communication between the emergency services staff in Europe ( first responders, managers, call takers,operators, paramedics, ambulance staff, fire-fighters, police officers, coastguards, search and rescue organisations)

- amendments of the emergency communications have been adopted by the European Parliament. This will lead to, among other things, accessibility of the 112 from the entire EU territory

- the project REACH-112 with the aim of improving answer to 112 calls made by people with disabilities.

- Roundtables on 112 in Romania and Poland. Others will follow

- In collaboration with the EENA Advisory Board, EENA created the 112 Foundation that focuses on educating citizens about the
existence and use of the 112.

Description of the Communication/PSAP Outreach Committee

- Support the development of the activities of the 112 Foundation

- Support the development of the 112 ESSN - Emergency Services Staff Network - to interrelate with Emergency Services all over Europe and share the ability to solve 112 issues.

- Promote the 112, the EENA Advisory Board and its Members in the relevant media

- Look for additional possibilities to organise 112 Roundtables

- Promote the European 112 Day among the 112 community and the institutions
